From April’2018, Country will have Real-time vehicle pollution data available!

To address the issue of national energy security, vehicular pollution & growth of domestic manufacturing capabilities, Supreme Court recently directed that insurance of a vehicle will not be renewed unless the owner provides pollution under control (PUC) certificate.

Not just that, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways was also asked to ensure that all fuel refilling centers in the National Capital Region (NCR) have PUC centers.

The apex court has granted four weeks time to the Center to ensure that there are functional PUC centers in NCR to ensure that vehicles plying have PUC certificate.

From next April, real time pollution data of each vehicle will be available online in “Vahan” portal of central government, which is the depository of all vehicle related information.

To start with, Government will be putting the system in NCR. Standardization of the output of the pollution test will be done to ensure that the data will reflect the pollution level of each vehicle in the portal.

At present, the test output is not standardized and uniform; therefore these cannot be reflected in the system. Once the standards are optimized, country will have access to real time pollution data. It will also put an end to anyone manipulating the data to issue a PUC.

Under the new system, the vehicle owners will have to make payment beforehand while going for pollution test.

CHEERS TO A SIMPLE & ROADSTER LIFE ON A PRE-OWNED BIKE

The word ‘Roadster’ rings the right bells in my head, where I imagine myself riding on a bike on a long road with scenic views of nature. After I completed my studies and decided to enter a job I knew my roadster life is about to begin. However, as I just started to work I was not having enough money to buy a new bike and as I also wanted to show my family that I have become independent I decided to go for a pre-owned bike.
