Supreme Court considering lifting the ban on sale of diesel vehicles

The bench said it is open for registration of diesel vehicles subject to charging some kind of one time environmental cess.

Yesterday come as breath of relief for aspiring owners of diesel cars above 2000 CC as the Supreme Court said it is open to lift the ban on sale of diesel vehicles subject to charging one time environment compensation cess. The bench has asked the lawyers representing the automobile manufacturers to come out with a proper plan on how much the cess should be charged while registering such vehicles.
Unveiling a slew of measures to curb alarming pollution level in Delhi and NCR, the apex court had on December 16 last year banned registration of diesel-run sports utility vehicles and high-end private cars with engine capacity of 2000 CC and above till March 31.

Later, the ban on registration was extended till further orders.

Now with the decision coming in we are hopeful that the save of high end SUVs and other sedans will likely increase. Through customers have to pay for the same but they can also reap the maximum benefit out of the diesel option in Delhi and NCR.

Meanwhile for buying used cars with diesel engine of less than 2000 CC you can visit Shriram Automall. The company offers widest range of used cars with petrol, diesel & CNG engines at optimal price.

Car Care Tips for Monsoon

As we all know that monsoon is just about to arrive in a month’s time. We bring you the tips & tricks to take care of your car during monsoon season.

“Monsoon is regarded as one of the most loved season however on the flipside it is a season where majority of car accidents takes place as the risk factor increases substantially. Cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi which receives good amount of rainfall are affected most. Where rain control is not in your hand but taking good care of your car is.” Sameer Malhotra, CEO Shriram Automall India Limited
There are several factors during rainy season which makes driving unsafe & make us extra cautious.

Shriram Automall, India’s leading service provider for buying & selling used commercial vehicles & equipment exclusively brings you useful car maintenance tips.

Most important parts of car which should be checked regularly are:

TYRES – Tyres are one of the most important parts of your car. Make sure the tyres are in excellent condition before monsoon. The tread depth should be good to ride easily on slippery surface avoiding any chances of skid. The tire tread depth should not be less than 2 mm. Rubber has a tendency to soften when coming in contact with water so one should check the tyre pressure regularly and inflate it to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer.

BRAKES – Brake pads are the parts that should be taken extra care of, they should be cleaned & replaced in a regular interval to make them dirt free. Brakes should not be too tight or too loose and you should keep using them frequently as water will most likely wet the brake drums, therefore reducing braking efficiency.

WIPERS & WASHERS – The blades used in wipers have a tendency to wear out very fast. Make sure you change the rubber before monsoons begin. One should ensure that the rubber is not hard and does not have cracks as they will scratch the windscreen.

ELECTRICALS – Electricals is a department that can cause major accidents during monsoon. Make sure to patch a weak or loose electrical connection; don’t forget to carry extra fuses. Check all the lights, it is advisable to keep your parking light and brake light on while driving during rain.

CAR BODY – Rain water is generally acidic in nature and can damage the cars body if exposed directly for long time. Protect the body of your car by applying a good quality wax polish before monsoon. The wax will not only protect the paint but will also allow water to roll off easily.

ANTI RUST COATING ON CHASSIS – Chassis is the most important part of your car on which it moves. During monsoon the chassis of your car is directly exposed to a lot of water. It is advisable to coat your chassis with anti rust coating to protect it from rusting & give your car a longer run.

With the above tips we hope you enjoy a happy upcoming monsoon with a safe ride with your loved ones.

My first ever experience of owning a used car from Shriram Automall

I had been living with my wife in South Delhi from last two years. We both are fond of food and travel. Our weekends are usually occupied with exciting ride on our bike. Recently, my parents shifted to our place. We were all very happy but our weekend outings somehow ended because a bike was not that spacious to make space for all four of us. So, I decided to buy a used car. I came to know about Shriram Automall through a friend, who was already associated with the company. The best part was, I could not just own a second hand car from there but could also sell my used bike through them. I found it extremely beneficial and simply visited Shriram Automall Manesar.

I was mesmerized to see a huge variety of pre-owned cars parked for disposal. They conduct this exciting bidding event in which different pre-owned vehicles are displayed on the ramp. I inspected all the second-hand cars and chose one for myself. After registration, I stepped into their bidding hall which was so huge and lively with numerous participants. While I looked for a seat, one of their customer service person guided me through my bidder book.

The bidding event started and there were not just the used cars on ramp, but second commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, three-wheelers and many more were also displayed. I waited for my chosen pre-owned car and the moment it arrived on ramp, I started bidding. I was supposed to be active as I wanted to be the highest bidder. Let me tell you, it was not that easy to actually grab that pre-owned car because there were several bidders bidding on it. But, eventually my passion won and I got that used car.

Well, my first ever experience of owning a pre-owned car from Shriram Automall Manesar was extremely great. I have come to know that they have various Automalls across the country. So, if you wish to own or dispose any used vehicle or equipment, this is a perfect place that suits both your needs.

The pre-owned car market will grow 2.5 to 3 times the new car market in a few years

Auto companies have been raising vehicle prices, citing rising input costs. Why auto companies say that input costs have gone up when prices of most commodities seem to be coming down?
OEMs have been absorbing increasing input costs in the past years which have been eating into their profit margins. The consumption of steel, aluminium, rubber, glass and plastic is high in the automotive industry. Raw material costs are less volatile as they are acquired under long-term agreements. Over a period of years, the number of components in the vehicles has also increased, which has resulted in higher consumption of raw materials. Strict government norms on safety, emissions and constantly changing technology have a significant impact on the supply chain cost. Stagnant sales, halt of excise sops and increasing inputs cost has made OEMs transfer a percentage of this cost to the end-consumer.
Now the excise sops have gone. How will it affect car sales?

RISING DEMAND OF USED CARS IN INDIA

Demand for used car have risen because of the consumers increased concern to get the best value for their money  Average price of a used car increases about 10% year-on-year .but some dealers  disagree saying that used car still offer great value, as new car lose 15% to 30% of their value just in the first year of driving. Once knowing what you want, you can now easily do pre test drive research these days. Take the following steps

*Set your budget and just fix with it- consider each and every cost from cost of insurance and mileage to the terms of car’s warranty i.e. from running cost to potential repair cost of the used car

*Compare used car with the old car- compare the condition of used car with the brand new car. Inspect thoroughly every inch of the car’s interior and frame.

*Investigate the used car history- after comparing look into the history of that used car. Any undisclosed flaw like damages in an accident etc.

*Check the warranty- assuming that the original warranty has expired ask for extended warranty. Make sure the offered warranty on used car matches with your pre-owned car usage

*Establish a fair value- after setting the budget and comparing the used car, now comes establishing a fair price range. Carefully and watchfully estimate the price considering all the factors. Keeping in mind that some sellers in the used car segment are flexible than others make the best use of it.

*Negotiate your deal- once you have established the fair price of used cars in India visit different dealers or sellers and negotiate for the same

“Shriram Automall offers maximum choice of used vehicles through its platforms namely physical bidding, online bidding, private treaty and one stop classified to appease the customer’s comfort.

These platforms are implemented with high operational integrities and transparency” – Mr. Sameer Malhotra, CEO of SAMIL
