Commercial Vehicles remain buoyant in June 2016

Talking about Tata Motors, the company has posted a decent growth of 14% in the month of June 2016 when compared to the same month last year. Another commercial vehicle giant after Tata which is Mahindra has posted 11% jump in sales when compared to last year.

While other players like Eicher & Volvo have posted double digit growth with 20.33% hike, Ashok Leyland, on the other hand registered 7 percent YoY growth with total 11,108 units sold in June 2016.
With good monsoon prediction this year should pave way for good CV sales, reasons like increasing diesel prices could dampen the growth, for a meanwhile only though. The cumulative sales in commercial vehicle segment in June 2016 stood at 78,292 units, higher by 10 percent than June 2015. The CV industry is expected to grow at a rate of 10-12 percent for FY 2016-17 and with the current sales, it looks achievable.

Meanwhile if you are looking to buy pre-owned commercial vehicles of all make and models that paying a visit to Shriram Automall will certainly help you out as the company offers widest line up of used commercial vehicles under one roof at optimal price.

Supreme Court considering lifting the ban on sale of diesel vehicles

The bench said it is open for registration of diesel vehicles subject to charging some kind of one time environmental cess.

Yesterday come as breath of relief for aspiring owners of diesel cars above 2000 CC as the Supreme Court said it is open to lift the ban on sale of diesel vehicles subject to charging one time environment compensation cess. The bench has asked the lawyers representing the automobile manufacturers to come out with a proper plan on how much the cess should be charged while registering such vehicles.
Unveiling a slew of measures to curb alarming pollution level in Delhi and NCR, the apex court had on December 16 last year banned registration of diesel-run sports utility vehicles and high-end private cars with engine capacity of 2000 CC and above till March 31.

Later, the ban on registration was extended till further orders.

Now with the decision coming in we are hopeful that the save of high end SUVs and other sedans will likely increase. Through customers have to pay for the same but they can also reap the maximum benefit out of the diesel option in Delhi and NCR.

Meanwhile for buying used cars with diesel engine of less than 2000 CC you can visit Shriram Automall. The company offers widest range of used cars with petrol, diesel & CNG engines at optimal price.

SAFE RIDING TIPS FOR MONSOON

Monsoon has begun on a positive note in the country, while it gives great pleasure to ride in rains and see the scenic beauty of nature; it is also an important part to ride safe. Here are some tips that will help you ride safe in rains.

BEFORE THE RIDE
Riding in rain can be dangerous but it is defiantly worth it, so even before you go on a ride make sure you check the below things.

Tyre conditions: Check the condition of your tyres. If they're near the end of their life, it's best to just replace them before the rains really kick in, even if you believe they can run for few hundred kilometers.

Tyre pressure: It's generally a good idea to run tyre pressures one or two PSI below the manufacturer's recommendation. The increased contact patch gives slightly improved grip on wet roads. Just make sure that you don't drop the pressures too much, as that has a converse effect on grip.

Gear-up: While you might prefer darker colors, it might be a good idea to invest in some brightly colored rain gear as it makes you more visibly in rainy conditions.

Visibility: in rains you should avoid using dark or tinted visors on your helmet in the rains. Clear visors give you much better visibility in the gloomy conditions of the monsoons. Also, make sure the visor is clean and scratch-free before you start riding.

DURING THE RIDE
During the ride you need to be extra careful as your sudden action or movement may lead to a crash.

Have Better Control – Avoid using sudden action as rain on the road means your tyre will have low traction. Avoid actions like rapidly opening the throttle, applying the brakes really hard or steering the bike aggressively. Such sudden movements can very easily overwhelm the traction available to your tyres, causing you to crash.

Right techniques: Proper braking techniques become all the more critical in wet conditions. While a bike with ABS will let you slam the brakes hard on wet roads safely, if your bike doesn't have ABS, you have to be extra careful.

Kill speeds: You need to be extra careful when riding during the first rains of the day, as these tend to leech out the oils and grime from the road surface, making it extra slippery. Keeping a lower speed than normal in such conditions is recommended.

Headlights on: Ride with your headlight on (not just your parking lamps), even if it's just an overcast day. The gloomy conditions in the monsoons reduce contrast, so running your headlights helps to make you more visible to other road users.
