Different Ways Of Selling Pre-Owned Commercial Vehicles

If you are planning to expand your business then clearly your needs will also grow. You would definitely want to either upgrade your pre-owned commercial vehicle or dispose it at the best price in order to hunt for another option. If you wish to sell your pre-owned commercial vehicle then obviously you would want to explore the best ways. A well-planned disposal of used commercial vehicles is always fruitful with a better realization of money. Let’s take a glance at various ways of disposing a pre-owned commercial vehicle.

Sell it on your own
If you are not in an urgent need to sell your pre-owned commercial vehicle, then you can do it yourself also. The easiest way to do that is stick a sign on your vehicle stating its availability for sale and then drive it to a crowded location or park it in a location which has maximum footfall or traffic.

Dispose through a dealer on consignment basis
You can also dispose a pre-owned commercial vehicle on a consignment basis. In this way, you generally sign an agreement with the company under which it will take care of the entire selling process and will charge service fees in terms of some percentage out of the sale price.

Sell through a dealership
Being an easiest way of disposing a pre-owned commercial vehicle, many people prefer selling their vehicles through dealers. Once you take your commercial vehicle to a dealer, it will first undergo an inspection on the basis of which its value will be finalized and then offered to prospect buyers.

Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) serves various bidding platforms to facilitate the trade of pre-owned vehicles and equipment. You can visit your nearest Automall facility in order to sell your pre-owned commercial vehicle at attractive price with utmost transparency and authenticity.

Dos
The vehicle Type
  • Your decision for a purchase must be based on your usage of the vehicle. Depending on that you will decide the category of options available that you should explore. In case, you need it for transporting heavy goods, then a used mini truck will not serve the purpose.
Fuel

  • Never say ‘Yes’ until you are not sure about the used commercial vehicle. Because that will result in future problems. That’s why, it is necessary to physically inspect the vehicle through a test drive. Also make sure you inspect the vehicle in proper day light to check every aspect of it.

Safety Tips for Commercial Drivers

Driving trucks or other commercial vehicles is such a grueling task which requires proper concentration of the driver on the road.  Not only must commercial drivers adjust with other motorists, dangerous weather conditions, and wandering wildlife, but they must do so while operating large rigs, often carrying heavy and sometimes dangerous cargo. One mistake can cause large number of problems.

To help stay out of harm’s way, consider the following safety tips when driving:

Maintain space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.

Do not tailgate. Be patient. Maintain proper space with the vehicle in front of you. According to studies, the most common vehicle trucks hit are the one in front of them, due to tailgating. The bigger the rig the longer it takes to brake and stop.

If you are tired, pull off the road and take a nap. Arriving late would not cause much damage than sleeping while driving the truck.

Strictly follow the rules that are applied to the commercial vehicle drivers. Not following the rules can lead to violating the rules and can lead to the problems in your career.

Slow down in work zones. Close to one-third of all fatal work zone crashes involve large rigs. Plus, you could lose your commercial drivers license if caught speeding in a posted work zone.

While driving for longer durations, try and take the breaks after every 2 hours to fight fatigue and remain alert.
In winters be cautious and do not over speed. Fog can result in fatal crashes.

Always drive below the posted speed limit to avoid any accidents and damage.

Try to maintain a full fuel tank in winter driving to prevent water condensation from building in the fuel lines.

Always have spare tires ready, especially while travelling on mountain regions.

When pulled off to the side of a road, highway, or Interstate due to mechanical problems, always use flashers, reflective triangles, and even road flares to alert approaching drivers.

Avoid idling while sleeping, loading or unloading.

Give your truck ample time and space when slowing down for a complete stop. Use brake lights early. Most motorists don’t realize how long it takes for a rig to stop.

It is recommended to use flashers while driving at a low speed for a long time.

Avoid changing lanes again and again. Also check your side mirrors at interval of every 10 seconds.

Signal early when approaching an intersection, giving other motorists ample warning of your intended direction.

Winters Are Coming – Make Sure Your Used Truck Is Well Prepared

Winters are straight up ahead & you got to make sure that your trucks runs well day after day. So today we bring you the tips to take care of your used truck in winters:

Keep your trucks running at highway speed in extreme temperature so that it generates the required heat & power to keep the engine running.

Plug in the engine block heater on all diesel trucks every night - even when the temperature feels warm. The longer a truck sits, the more crucial it is to plug it on.

Avoid cold soaks. Cold soaks occur when the engine fluids and the steel of the engine block drop to medium temperatures. This happens when a vehicle sits for more than a day and it impacts starting and charging systems.

Base your fuel needs on your destination weather. Use winter weight fuel when driving north and consider fuel additives.

Check your tires often. Freezing temperatures can cause slippery driving conditions. Having correctly inflated tires in good condition will help prevent breakdowns and accidents.

Have drivers pre-trip their trucks daily. This should include inspecting their vehicle for frozen components like trailer doors, power cords, etc. If they have any safety, starting, fuel or heater defroster-related problems, drivers should complete a Driver’s Vehicle Condition Report so the issue can addressed immediately.

Always carry an emergency kit with you: extra gloves, boots and blankets; flares; a small shovel and sand or kitty litter; tire chains; a flashlight and extra batteries; and a cell phone and extra car charger. Put a few “high-energy” snacks in your glove box in case there is a situation of emergency.
