Delhi,
be prepared to receive E-challans for jumping red lights and over-speeding as
Delhi police along with Maruti Suzuki will be installing advance traffic
management system on a 14 km long stretch along the Ring Road from Dhaula Kuan
to Sarai Kale Khan.
Traffic
Management System or the TSMS will feature advanced and high resolution cameras
which will include Red Light Violation Detection System (RLVDS), Speed
Violation Detection System (SVDS) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
system. These advance cameras will be able to capture red light jumping and
over-speeding simultaneously. Installation of TSMS will be done by Maruti
Suzuki who will also maintain the system for two years; the operation will be
under the charge of Delhi police.
The initiative is taken in woke

accidents in Delhi, among the highest in the country. With an automatic and
objective system in place, it is expected to instill discipline among road
users.
Operational time of the project

addition, Maruti Suzuki and Delhi Police also plan to engage with academic
institutions and social groups to spread awareness on traffic enforcement
systems and safe driving practices in the national capital.
