The two wheeler industry from FY 2014-15 is fluctuating, where the sales of motorcycles have been down while the scooter segment has shown good improvement. However it’s the year 2016-17 where the industry experts are predicting high level of growth in all segments of the automobile industry in India.
As per a recent research conducted by CRISIL, says that the two wheeler segment will have a good growth overall in every vertical be it motorcycle, scooter or mopeds. 2015 witnessed a slight de-growth as rural income was weak due to lack of a normal monsoon.

CRISIL projects the year will have a good motorcycle sales only if we have a normal monsoon & scooter market will grow due to number of factors like improving rural and semi-urban infrastructure, rising proportion of women in the workforce, improving mileage & last but not the least income boost provided by Seventh Pay Commission to buoy demand.
As per the research Rural India will be contributing more in driving the growth & the number of two wheelers plying on the road will just be doubled by the end of year 2019-20.
As the demand for new two wheeler increases the used two wheeler market is also set to have a big boost as the current ratio between new & used two wheeler is 1:1 & taking the same ratio, by 2019 the used market will also be doubled in numbers.
