Tractor industry is considered as the barometer to measure rural market sentiment in the nation. On the basis of good monsoon forecasting, Indian tractor industry has witnessed a positive sentiment in April 2016. India's largest tractor company Mahindra and Mahindra has recorded growth of 22% in April 2016 to sale 20,704 units against the same month last year. In the same time and Escorts and Sonalika International Tractors have registered growth of 10.3% and 7% to sale 4,000 and 5,392 units respectively in April 2016. More so, credit rating agency ICRA has forecasted that the industry is likely to grow by 5-6% in 2016-17.
